“Black Rose” came from the image of something elegant, romantic, and beautiful that still carries a darkness underneath. I wanted the song to feel mysterious and intimate, with gothic atmosphere, haunting female vocals, and a sense that there is always something just beneath the surface.
At its heart, the song is about being drawn to something you know may hurt you and finding beauty in it anyway. The black rose became the perfect symbol for that contradiction—love and danger, desire and warning, beauty and pain all existing together.

I wanted the song to feel like standing your ground, protecting what you love, and making it through the worst of it together.

I wanted it to feel stylish and grown-up rather than reckless for the sake of it—a song about chemistry, temptation, and choosing to enjoy the moment even when you know it might come with consequences.

Some songs begin with a melody. Ashes in Glass began with a feeling.
It's about standing in front of someone who only sees your reflection while hiding the cracks beneath the surface. We all wear masks at times—pretending we're okay, smiling through heartbreak, carrying memories we'd rather forget. Eventually those hidden fractures catch the light.
Ashes in Glass tells the story of finding strength in those broken pieces instead of pretending they don't exist. It's dark, emotional, and powerful, but underneath it all is hope. Even shattered glass can reflect something beautiful.
This became one of my favorite songs I've ever created. From the soaring chorus to Lyra's haunting vocal performance, everything came together exactly the way I imagined. It's a reminder that even after everything burns away, there is still something worth saving.
